Tribute to the master Edgar Allan Poe and his short story "Berenice" which depicts the obsessions of Egaeus and his fetish for her cousin Berenice’s teeth. The lady is astonishing pretty, and begins to suffer from a degenerative disease that takes her life. Contemplating her lifeless corpse, Egaeus notes that even with the cold vastness of death her teeth remain terrible, shiny and white as ivory. At the climax, our hero, astonished, still covered in mud and blood, gets the news that her corpse was unearthed and her teeth had been severed.
